BestOff 2026

Opening: October 21, 2026, 4:00 p.m.; Exhibition runs through November Hauptplatz 6, splace am Hauptplatz, Paramentenwerkstatt

Exhibition featuring works by students and graduates of the University of Arts Linz

We cordially invite you to this year’s BestOff exhibition at the University of Arts Linz. The annual exhibition presents works by students and recent graduates. This year’s edition features 44 artworks located in Hauptplatz 6, splace and Paramentenwerkstatt in Seilerstätte 1.

The team of BestOff worked on the history of the building on Hauptplatz 6, particularly the post-war restaurant “Stadtkeller” - traces of which can be found in the lower floor of the building. The “Stadtkeller” provides the curatorial and visual framework for this year’s BestOff, and is referenced in curatorial interventions.

On the opening day, exhibition spaces open at 4 pm. At the same time, artist Tetiana Shtykalo will begin her Clay Dinner masterclass, which invites participation in the preparation of a fish dinner. Registration is possible via email.

Ariathney Coyne and Lukas Kuhl will perform during the evening and the program is accompanied by the voices of the Ned D’accord Chor.

Like no other format, BestOff illustrates the diversity of artistic positions present within the art university. Artists and graduates provide glimpses into their thought processes.

For the first time in the framework of BestOff, Artistic Research Roundtables will take place. Students, whose work is shaped by a lengthy research process will present their work and research. These public events will take place on October 27th and November 3rd, starting at 7 pm in the “Festsaal” of the Nordico Stadtmuseum.

This year's curator, Barbara Seyerl, will personally lead a tour of the exhibition on November 5 at 4.30 p.m. Registration is requested. Find all the details here.

During the exhibition period performances by artists will be taking place in the exhibition spaces and throughout the city center. Keep an eye out for them!

We look forward to seeing you,
the team of BestOff
