To the Surface

To the surface is a group exhibition bringing together students of the painting department of the Kunstuni Linz. 

Questioning painting as an individual and singular or even solitary practice, the exhibition approaches painting through sitespecific installation and alternative image carriers, examining it as a spatial, material, and collaborative practice. Using salt as a metaphorical framework, the exhibition moves through its qualities: preserving and corroding, absorbing and drying, crystallizing and evaporating to reflect on collective dynamics and acts of negotiation and exchange.
