Most of our study programmes require applicants to pass an entrance exam. Depending on the study programme, the departments hold between one and three artistic entrance exams each academic year.

To register for the entrance exam, you will have to upload a portfolio with work samples. If you have any questions regarding specific guidelines, or if you want to receive some guidance for your portfolio, please contact the respective department:

Several weeks after the application deadline, the study programmes invite suitable candidates to the entrance exam. The exam usually takes place at the University of Arts Linz, but some study programmes are able to hold the exam online.

Important: If you cannot enter Austria without a visa, please make sure to apply for your visa on time.

After passing the entance exam, please prepare the necessary documents you need to complete the admission procedure. We also recommend sendig scans by e-mail to the Student Service Center in advance, who will inform you, if your documents are in order, or if you need to legalise them. Please note that applying for a student visa / residence permit can take several months and plan accordingly.

Important: For most study programmes applicants need to complete the enrolment procedure in person at the Student Service Center.
