The work with ceramic materials forms the starting-point for the development of artistic concepts. Students assume an experimental, inquisitive attitude vis-à-vis materials and techniques.
By addressing ceramic and other materials in depth, students also reflect on the importance of materiality in our everyday world. This ability to reflect is evolved through a wide range of courses and classes in the fields of art history, art theory, cultural studies and philosophy. With a view to furthering students’ ability of artistic expression, the central artistic training classes as well as courses dealing with colour, drawing, methods of representation, digital techniques, 3D modelling but also plaster modelling/mould making, seminars focusing on ceramic technology, glazing techniques, modelling and ceramic surface design impart comprehensive knowledge and technical skills in the field of ceramics.
