Kintsugi creates connections. This project combines the art of Kintsugi with techniques like basket weaving and yarn wrapping. Kintsugi will be used to repair and beautify broken pottery, the woven sticks build bridges between the broken pieces, the golden yarn connects the cracks and adds texture and color. This fusion of techniques celebrates connectedness, resilience, and the uniqueness of each object.
My sampler features a unique blend of Kintsugi technique and various natural materials, including sticks and golden yarn. This design creates a connection between two broken plate halves, with the golden yarn binding the cracks together. The use of natural materials not only enhances the aesthetic but also emphasizes the theme of harmony and resilience in my work.
