Opening: May 29, 2025, 6 p.m.; Exhibition until: June 13, 2025 Salt Office Linz
The project, curated by Moritz Pisk, Department of Cultural Studies and Clemens Mairhofer, will be opened as part of the Stream Festival.
With Spill & Bleed, the exhibition title draws on two terms from audio engineering that describe the echoing of sounds into unintended places. Rave and dancefloor cultures are currently undergoing a similar process: they are surfacing in new contexts, resonating with diverse audiences and influencing multiple disciplines and genres.
The group exhibition at Salzamt Linz features works highlighting the intersection of contemporary art and club culture. Spill & Bleed explores the temporalities and politics of the dancefloor — a space where time twists sideways, loops backwards and refuses to always move forward.
