Symposium on the ERC project OLFAC

The past few weeks in the ERC project OLFAC have been eventful. From December 3 to 5, 2025, the project's first international symposium took place at ifk Vienna, bringing together scholars and artists to explore how smells intervene in cultural, aesthetic, and political formations. The conversations centred on sensory-studies perspectives that approach smell as a performative force – one that shapes atmospheres, productively unsettles archives, and opens new trajectories of thought.

On December 11, the Artist Residency of Paola Bianchi and Stefano Murgia concluded with a performance and an artist talk in Linz.
