Meine Erfahrungen / Mehrwert / Ergebnis der Mobilität | My experience / added value / outcome of the mobility:
Participating in the two-days teaching program at the Art Education Department in Munich was an enriching and transformative experience. The program, centered on critical diversity approaches, allowed me to engage deeply with students, colleagues, and professionals in the field of art education.
The preparation phase, which included three online video calls with my hosts, Professor Notburga Karl and Annette Schemmel, set the stage for a productive and collaborative experience. By the time I arrived in Munich, we had already established a strong working relationship, which made teaching together seamless and rewarding. I was given the opportunity to lead sessions, bringing my own methodological, didactical, and theoretical/practical expertise to the table. The feedback I received was overwhelmingly positive, reaffirming my contributions on an international level.
The program extended beyond the classroom, offering opportunities for social and professional engagement. A student-organized semester party and a dinner with colleagues and professionals provided spaces for critical exchanges and networking. These interactions deepened my understanding of the diverse challenges and opportunities in art education, from institutional structures to curriculum development and youth programs.
One of the most significant outcomes of this mobility was the sense of belonging it fostered. For a long time, I had felt somewhat disconnected from the academic world, but this experience reminded me of the value of my contributions and the importance of international collaboration.
I am particularly excited about the invitation I received to return to the university for further teaching in the winter semester. This opportunity not only validates the success of this mobility but also opens new avenues for continued exchange and growth.
In summary, this experience has been invaluable in broadening my perspectives, strengthening my professional network, and reaffirming my place in the academic and art education communities. I look forward to applying what I have learned and continuing to build on these connections in the future.
Message an Kolleg*innen | Message to the colleagues:
I am happy to share my recent experience participating in an intensive two-days teaching program at the Art Education Department in Munich. Hosted by Professor Notburga Karl and Annette Schemmel, this program focused on critical diversity approaches in art education and provided a unique opportunity for collaboration, exchange, and growth.
The preparation for this mobility began well in advance, with three online video calls that allowed us to establish a strong foundation for our work together. This preparation paid off, as the teaching sessions were dynamic and collaborative. I was warmly invited to lead sessions, contributing my methodological, didactical, and theoretical/practical expertise.
Beyond the classroom, the experience was enriched by meaningful social and professional interactions. I had the chance to meet many colleagues during a student-organized semester party and a dinner with professionals in the fields of art, pedagogy, and media. These gatherings fostered critical discussions, new connections, and a deeper understanding of the diverse perspectives within our field.
The program also offered valuable insights into the structural challenges and opportunities in art education, from curriculum development to institutional management. The exchange of ideas with students and colleagues was both inspiring and thought-provoking, and I left with a renewed sense of belonging to the academic world.
I am excited to share that this collaboration has opened new doors: I have been invited to return to the university for further teaching in the upcoming winter semester. This opportunity is a testament to the mutual respect and appreciation that emerged during this mobility.
I look forward to bringing the knowledge and experiences I gained back to our own institution and continuing to build bridges across borders in the field of art education.
