Description of the PhD project

Plastic Culture

This project explores plastics as cultural and environmental matter through artistic-scientific research. Plastic is both a material and a metaphor, shaping culture through new technology and excess, while revealing social and ecological narratives such as trash-aesthetics. By tracing its poly-functional roles, the work reimagines how art and activism respond to synthetic materials entangled with contemporary life.
