Onur Olgac

Istanbul-born, Vienna-based creative technologist, system architect, and ethical computing researcher Onur Olgaç works as a systems engineer and consultant for open-source driven infrastructure, and lecturer within artistic/cultural frameworks. With a BSc. in Computer Science and an MA degree from Interface Cultures, his research on politics surrounding technology within artistic contexts led to the development of his teaching series “Digital Sovereignty” that focuses on the topics of privacy-awareness, digital literacy, digital production, self-hosting/alternative workflows for artists and designers, and emancipation of the end user.

He has participated in various international events and performed at locations such as the Pantheon (Rome), Sónar Festival (Barcelona), Ars Electronica Festival (Linz), CIVA Festival (Vienna), Internet Yami-Ichi (Madrid, Bologna, Linz), Palazzo dei Congressi (Rome), NODE Festival (Frankfurt), Art Meets Radical Openness (Linz), Amber Festival (Istanbul) through exhibitions as well as collaborations, performances, talks and workshops.
