The “studio städtebau” invites you to understand urban planning as an inviting interdisciplinary platform that works across scales and integrates international discourse. Design.think, design.dialogue, and design.build as urban design strategies form the starting point for adopting various multidisciplinary perspectives based on a complex understanding of space, which bring us all back into conversation and build bridges for the upcoming social transformation processes. It is important to us to be on site as much as possible in order to get to know the ecology and sociality and to establish spaces for listening, reflection, and trusting dialogue on an equal footing. We draw on cultural and social science discourses and attempt to develop spatially transformative approaches by designing common goods and commons as public and democratic spaces. We want to use respectful collaboration and local knowledge, craftsmanship, and practices in a co-productive way to promote a creative right to an open city.
