You’ve become a victim? What to do in case of damage or fraud:

  • Take screenshots of messages, chats, emails, and payment confirmations.
  • Try to get your money back: Try to cancel or reverse the payment through your payment service provider. Contact your credit card company or your bank. Ask if there are any options to recover the money – even if the chances are rather low. If you paid via PayPal, submit a claim under the Buyer Protection program.
  • Report the incident to the police: File a report with the police and provide any secured evidence. Criminals are only prosecuted if a formal complaint is filed. Therefore, file a free criminal complaint at your local police station. Bring all documents that prove the fraud, as well as an official photo ID.
