online via Zoom us06web.zoom.us
Tally Weijl views sustainability as a combination of functional quality and emotional value: sustainable fashion means not only better materials and processes, but also acting responsibly. Sustainability is understood not as perfection, but as continuous progress that encompasses all stages of the product life cycle – from design and material selection through to use, repair and recycling by customers.
Key current initiatives include the increased use of more sustainable materials as part of the ‘Tally Cares’ programme, pilot projects on the circular economy for textiles, and an annual sustainability report to transparently showcase progress. Challenges lie primarily in the complex global supply chain, the scalability of sustainable solutions, the lack of technologies for textile recycling, and the traceability of all production steps.
David Alonso Gómez is a chemistry working in the textile industry for more than 12 years. Based in Basel, Switzerland, he is working as Head of Sustainability in Tally Weijl since 2021.
