The annual brochure of the Department of Visual Communication

The Department of Visual Communication at the University of Arts Linz presents the new edition of its annual brochure - a compilation of the strongest works of the academic year 2024/25 from courses, research projects and final theses of the Bachelor's and Master's programs.

What connects the works of this year can be condensed into two movements: the courage to take up one's own voice - and the trust in a community that listens and supports. This tension between individual voice and collective runs through all areas of the brochure: through courses in which students develop their own tools, forms and attitudes within common thematic frameworks, through final theses that show how someone has found their own initial position, and through research projects that have taken the department far beyond itself in cooperation with science, medicine and cultural institutions.

The brochure documents a department that sees creative thinking as a method - not to provide answers, but to make questions sharper, more visible and more tangible.
