Our teacher training programme focuses on the requirements of the Austrian school system with the goal of teaching children. Apart from the artistic entrance exam, applicants need to pass multiple admission procedures (Module A and B) and need to choose a second subject which is part of the teacher training curriculum. It is held in German and applicants have to submit a German language certificate at the time of enrolment (B2, or higher depending on the second subject) and a high school, or equivalent, certificate.
Our Master's programmes require applicants to pass the entrance exam/ interview and to submit a compatible Bachelor's certificate.
If you are interested in our PhD programme, please contact the PhD department for more information on the application procedure.
No, applicants do not need to have German skills for the entrance exam. They can take the entrance exam in English after checking in with the department.
Please see the language requirements for the study programme of your choice. We are offering language classes for students who need to submit a German certificate before starting their third semester at our university. As students need to have some German skills (A2) to participate, we recommend having some basic German skills at the time of enrolment. Please note that for administrative reasons it is not possible to take the language exam at our university, this needs to happen at a different institute.

The amount of your tuition fees depends on your nationality. Regular students holding a citizenship from a member-state of the European Union need to pay the Austrian student union fee each semester during the allotted study period as stated in their curriculum. They may exceed their studies by two semester without increasing their fees. If by then they do not complete their studies, they also need to to pay tuition fees for any additional semester, unless they qualify for a waiver.
Students with a citizenship from a non-member state of the European union need to pay higher tuition fees unless they qualify for a waiver.
Students who are not enrolled in a degree programme have to pay tuition fees, regardless of their citizenship.
You can find more information regarding tuition fees on our homepage.
After completing the enrolment procedure at the Student Service Center, you will receive a payment form for your first semester at our university. When paying, please make sure to state the reference number on your payment form, otherwise we are not able to link your payment to your UFGonline student's account. Even though our university does not have any dormitories, there are many dormitories in Linz which are also available to our students. We recommend registering as early as possible, as the availability is limited. Flat shares are a popular alternative.
Please note that if you are not able to find a place in Linz, you might find something suitable in one of the many surrounding suburbs, which are usually very well connected by public transportation.
