Linzer Bier and the Visual Communication Department of the University of Arts Linz have collaborated on a project that's a sight to see and a drink to behold. In a creative collaboration, limited editions of Linzer Bier specialties were produced, with students from the University of Art and Design creating the design for the beer labels.
On March 18, an evening dedicated to art and beer was held as part of a beer launch. In the presence of City Councillor for Innovation Thomas Gegenhuber and City Councillor for Culture Doris Lang-Mayrhofer, the new labels for the latest Linz beer specialties were presented, which emerged from the competition with the Linz University of Art. The cooperation was supported from the idea to the beer launch by the Linz agency Fredmansky.
Ali Wolfinger, who is responsible for marketing Linzer Bier, explains: "Linzer Bier stands for creativity and a strong connection with the city of Linz like hardly any other brand. The collaboration with the Linz University of Art creates a partnership that authentically conveys these values and combines innovative beer specialties with equally expressive label design. This creates a contemporary and attractive brand image, especially for a young adult target group."
Professor Tina Frank, Head of the Visual Communication Department at the Linz University of Art: "It's great for the students to see how their work comes to life - and adds a visual touch to a good product. I would like to congratulate not only the winner Jeremy Traun, but all the participants on their great designs."
Jeremy Traun, the developer of the winning design, says: "I am delighted and proud to have won this competition with my creative idea. It was particularly exciting for me to convey the creativity of the brand and the traditionally strong connection with the city of Linz."

As part of a competition, students developed design concepts that were then evaluated by a jury. The winning design impresses with its playful design and combines different elements and facets that reflect the city of Linz. The focus is on the Linz beer "Liesl", which was interpreted depending on the variety and visually underlines the character of the respective specialty. The labels invite consumers to keep discovering new details and give free rein to their imagination.
