November 12, 2025, 6:00 p.m. University of Arts Linz, Hauptplatz 8, 4th floor, Lecture Theatre
The Department of Visual Communication invites you to a guest lecture by Vanja Bučan.
"My artistic practice has always been about chasing alternative meanings within the confines of what we humans perceive as reality. I look at humanity through nature, and that is why my work is potentially abstract , ambivalent and a bit rebellious. I wholeheartedly consider parallel communication networks of humans, animals and plants as equal parts of our planetary coexistence. I read books, watch a lot of movies and I like to spend time in forests. I always try to remain playful when developing an image as this keeps me aware of how anthropocentrism is dressed in normality in every aspect of our life." Vanja Bučan
"Schnittstelle" is an established lecture series organized by the Visual Communication Department at the University of Arts Linz. The series brings together artists, designers, curators and authors who create innovative connections between design, photography, art, performance and research in their work. With a focus on interdisciplinary approaches and the intersection of different media and disciplines, the lectures offer exciting insights into creative processes and promote exchange beyond the boundaries of traditional design.
