SCHNITTSTELLE X 78

November 19, 2025, 6:00 p.m. University of Arts Linz, Hauptplatz 8, 4th floor, Lecture Theatre

The Department of Visual Communication invites you to a guest lecture by Dominik Hruza.

In his lecture, Dominik Hruza will talk about Nick Random, who creates comics using artificial neural networks. With his works, Nick Random moves somewhere between sublime nonsense, veritable trash and postmodern reality. He has published two books to date: "Pulp Diffusion" and "Stuplimity Fiction". Both volumes and other works will be presented on the evening. In addition, insights into the working methodology will be given, training data will be disclosed and the AI models used will be presented.
Afterwards, participants will have the opportunity to discuss technical and aesthetic issues.

"Schnittstelle" is the established lecture series of the Department of Visual Communication at the University of Arts Linz. The series brings together artists, designers, curators and authors who create innovative connections between design, photography, art, performance and research in their work. With a focus on interdisciplinary approaches and the intersection of different media and disciplines, the lectures offer exciting insights into creative processes and promote exchange beyond the boundaries of traditional design.
