I’m at work in the kitchen, the orders come flying in, there isn’t much respect, and the conditions are inhuman. Endless tasks and hard physical labor, with wet hands and the stench of grease. A monster is here, as a warning. It demonstratively faces up to the challenges and problems of society. It is sad, blue, and stooped. It radiates impatience.
Ayda Houshmandnia studies sculpture at the University of Arts Linz. She experiments with different materials in order to explore their formal properties in relation to her concepts.
The work The monster as a logical problem was shown as part of the exhibition BestOff 2024.
