The artist uses monochrome, reflective surfaces to abstract the dialectic of the social pressure to conform and the individual effort to stand out. Repetition of the word groups "full identity / absolute form / total logic" results in three images whose aesthetic appeal takes shape in the tension between linguistic content and repetitive ornamental patterns.
Katharina Maria Wimmer is interested in manifestations of political and social organizational systems. In order to make these systems understandable individually, through her artistic practice, she approaches them by means of formal abstraction.
