Model M1:100, 39 cm × 38 cm × 20 cm, Design construction in existing context, transformation of the former carpenter’s hall in Franckviertel
She:builds is dedicated to the theme of “construction in context,” using a building with a feminist history. Acquired by the Verein Fragile organization in 1998 to train women in the manual trades, the former carpenter’s hall has now been transformed into a place where women who have had difficult lives are to be given new courage: with workspaces, training rooms, commerce, and prospects.
Christina Kraxberger (1994, Grieskirchen) studies Architecture at the University of Arts Linz. Her work combines the design of spaces with research into local conditions, as well as the needs of future users, the development of flexible structures, and the creation of atmospheric sites.
The work She:builds was shown as part of the exhibition BestOFF 2024.
