September 27 to October 13, 2024 Orangery Bendeleben, Burgstraße 4, 99707 Kyffhäuserland, Germany
PhD candidate and Research Collective member Martin Höfer invites you to the exhibition opening at the Orangerie Bendeleben.
As part of the cultural renewal of the late 1990s, the father-son project BARBARA ROSSA emerged as a prime example of the synthesis of literature, performance, and conceptual and media art. The artistic collaboration between Gerald (*1960) and Martin Höfer (*1982), which began in 1999 with a multimedia reading at Café Arte, quickly evolved into a multifaceted artistic endeavor. This retrospective exhibition, OBJECTS IN THE MIRROR ARE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR — 25 YEARS OF BARBARA ROSSA, celebrates their work. This collaboration highlights the necessity for individual talents in multimedia art to converge within a team context in order to meet the challenges of contemporary art. The resulting tension between individual creativity and collective collaboration is inseparably linked to the idea that true artistic excellence can only be achieved through the interplay of various disciplines and talents.
