Meine Erfahrungen / Mehrwert / Ergebnis der Mobilität | My experience / added value / outcome of the mobility:
The experience at UPV was a great way to get to know other university staff from all over Europe and get an idea of how other universities function. It was especially interesting to see the similarities and differences, also considering the difference in size between the UPV and University of Arts Linz. The Spanish course (for beginners) was a great crash course to get a feeling for the language and was directly geared to situations we might encounter during our time in Valencia (at the beach, airport, restaurant, etc.). The afternoon workshop, for which I chose "Spanish Food and Culture", gave amazing context and embedded the experience at the University into the broader Spanish culture. We were able to see important historical sites in Valencia and learn about its cultural influences, especially on the food. I am very grateful to have found a group of colleagues I was able to spend quality time with, during the courses and workshops, as well as in our free time.
Mehrwert und Ergebnisse | Added value and results:
What I really appreciated, was the connections I made with other colleagues from other Universities. It has shown me, that the exchange of experiences between Universities, but also within the departments of one University can bring lots of added value to the University system. In the future, this experience has inspired me to put more importance on Meetings between departments and try to take part in them more than I have before, for example Referent*innen-Meetings, Betriebsausflüge, Teambuilding activites, etc.
