Opening: October 17, 2026; Exhibition runs through December 20, 2026 ORGANHAUS, Chongqing, China
Faculty members and graduates of the University of Arts Linz are participating in the exhibition.
The international group exhibition ON THE WATERFRONT, organized by the MAERZ Artists’ Association, is on view at Organhaus II in Chongqing. The show builds on the exhibition of the same name that took place in Linz in 2025 and continues the exchange in Chongqing. Approximately 25 artistic projects from Austria, China, and Southeast Asia explore the relationships between water and the human sphere, shedding light on areas of tension between veneration and destruction, as well as between natural spaces and political intervention. Through installations, videos, photographs, and performances, a polyphonic European-Asian dialogue unfolds.
Representing Austria are David Kapl, Eginhartz Kanter, Hans Polterauer, Katharina Gruzei, Laurien Bachmann, Leo Schatzl, Margherita Spiluttini, Markus Burgstaller, Michael Goldgruber, Pepi Maier, Rainer Nöbauer-Kammerer, Sabine Jelinek, Siegfried A. Fruhauf, and Time Gates with Ben G. Fodor and Dorothee Frank.
Sabine Jelinek, a professor of painting and graphic arts, is exhibiting her work “Minor Places in Nature XVI.”
