April 2025 Abbey ponds in St. Florian
In mid-April, Plateau Blo, the successful Capital of Culture project by the University of Arts Linz under the direction of Simone Barlian and Sabine Pollak in cooperation with raumarbeiter Sophie Netzer and Kerstin Reyer as well as students from space&designstrategies, will move from Lake Traunsee to the Stiftsteiche in Sankt Florian and can soon be visited and viewed there as a floating sculpture.
Every summer, the area around the abbey ponds is transformed into the open-air studio "flora pondtemporary", where site-specific, eco-political works are shown that will remain permanently. In Gmunden, will soon be celebrating the farewell to the floating sauna with a final infusion and the launch of a new art and culture space in the Gaswerk called "STADTWERKE" - on Sunday, April 13 at 2 p.m. in Gaswerkgasse 4 and from 5 p.m. in the yacht club. Registration is required at hello@plateaublo.at. 20 Euro user fee goes towards the transportation to Sankt Florian. There is already a beautiful book on the two sensational Capital of Culture projects of the Linz University of Art, Plateau Blo and AVANTGARD/EN in the abandoned Carmelite convent in Gmunden.
