Janine Weger, born in 1993, is a visual artist working at the intersection of painting, installation, video, and photography. She studied in Canterbury (United Kingdom) and Vienna, where she currently lives and works. In 2025, she received the Hilde Goldschmidt Prize, and in 2027, she was selected by the Federal Ministry of Housing, Art, Culture, Media, and Sports for an artist residency in New York City. At the University of Art and Design Linz, she directs the “Visual Lab” photography studio and teaches both practical and theoretical courses there. At the same time, she is pursuing a Ph.D. on the negotiation of truth claims in digital images.
