Ceramic sculpture, rope, needle felt, shrink tubing; installation size varies
Mit dem Pragmatismus einer Doppelmasche shows Beate Gatschelhofer’s approach to translating linguistic text fragments into a formal sculptural language. Beginning with a lyrical text about stumbling, a poetic transcription emerged that internalizes questions about identity and location and opens up a dialogue between material and language—the attempt to stumble without falling.
Beate Gatschelhofer (1994, Bruck a.d. Mur, Austria) takes a lyrical, narrative approach to sculpture in her artistic work that reinterprets traditional ceramic materials and techniques. She will often start from her own poetry to create multi-part series of objects and installations.
