Edition #2 explores the tension between pressure and vacuum in all its political, material and poetic dimensions.

Under pressure, processes and decisions accelerate, and political positions are reshaped. Destruction and compression exist in close proximity – yet, at the same time, new forms and possibilities emerge.

A vacuum creates suction, holds things together, deprives of air and opens up spaces of absence and deformation. Pressure transforms materials, gives rise to new forms and fixes them in place. The vacuum is an emptiness from which precision emerges; it is also the pause before drawing breath, the moment of silence in which decisions take shape and become condensed.

For the second time, the Alumni Association forum – University of Arts Linz presents an edition featuring six artists, six perspectives and a wide range of techniques. The six works by graduates of the University of Arts Linz offer a sensitive exploration of the consequences of global warming and the rapid changes in living and working conditions brought about by technology and politics.
