One of the most important exhibitions devoted to architecture in the world, will open on 14th September in Venice. This year the exhibition will shine a spotlight on an architecture that tries to break free from buildings and this maybe is why this year the show will step outside the exhibit halls and occupy a significant piece of land.According to Aaron Betsky , chief curator of the exhibition, 11th Architecture Biennale “will point the way towards an architecture liberated from buildings to engage the central issues of our society; instead of the tombs of architecture, which is to say buildings, it will present site specific installations, visions and experiments that help us figure out, make sense of and feel at home in our modern world.”More than 20 works will be on display in the venues of Arsenale and Padiglione Italia at the Giardini and this time the public will also have the opportunity to enjoy the works of 10 young students who came out on top in the online competition Everyville 2008. The exhibition will close on 23rd November.
